MMPC Donates Scholarships to Senior High School Students Using Proceeds from the Sale of Used Batteries from Plant[Philippines]

On July 13, 2023, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation(MMPC), the manufacturing and distribution subsidiary of MMC in the Philippines, in partnership with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) a non-governmental organization, formalized its Balik-Baterya Scholarship Program through memorandum of agreement (MOA) signing ceremony. This initiative aims to promote environmental sustainability while providing educational support to senior high school students in select schools in Laguna.to senior high school students in select schools in Laguna.

MMPC first engaged in Balik-Baterya program with Oriental-Motolite Marketing Corporation (OMMC) in 2019. OMMC takes charge in processing the recycling treatment and proper disposal of used hazardous lead-acid batteries that are generated in MMPC Plant. Proceeds of recycling goes to MMPC's CSR fund which is used by the company for community aid.PBSP provides consultancy services and assists business sectors with their CSR programs.With the assistance of PBSP, MMPC channeled part of the proceeds generated starting this year from Balik-Baterya Program to scholarships for students of Don Jose Integrated High School and Biñan City Senior High School – Timbao Campus.

MMPC hopes that this program will be an opportunities for the younger generation to realize their full potential and to create a difference in the world.
