On Friday, February 13, we welcomed 11 Australian university students to Okazaki Plant for an internship program.
This program aims to promote studying-abroad and internship participation in the Indo-Pacific region, helping students deepen their understanding of Asia. This internship, jointly planned by eight Mitsubishi Group companies, consists of a 10-day program that takes students to visit each company's offices and factories, as well as locations connected to the Mitsubishi Group.
It is designed to provide students with an understanding of Japanese corporate culture, Japan-Australia business relations, and the history and philosophy of the Mitsubishi Group.
During the visit, we introduced our company and the Okazaki Plant, followed by an overview of our business operations in Australia. Afterwards, the students toured the Mitsubishi Auto Gallery, which showcases historical Mitsubishi vehicles, experiencing high‑speed driving on our test course. We also guided them through our development facilities and production sites, concluding with an introduction to our demonstration equipment for reusing end-of-life batteries from electric vehicles manufactured by Mitsubishi Motors and allowing them to gain a broad understanding of our manufacturing processes. Throughout the tour and during the Q&A session, students asked a wide range of questions, such as about popular body colors of cars in Australia, the future prospects of battery reuse products, and “How will technology evolve at the Okazaki Plant in 20 years?” This clearly reflected their high level of interest and proactive attitude toward learning.
We will continue to support the development of the next generation who will shape the future.
