In September 2021, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA), an authorized distributor of passenger cars and SUVs with MMC in the USA, awarded a six-month, free-of-charge Eclipse Cross loan to Ms. Mel Taylor, a local entrepreneur who was the winner of MMNA's Small Batch – Big Ideas Entrepreneur Network project.
A partnership between MMNA and NGO Nashville Entrepreneur Center, #8251;1 the program was designed to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses by giving them direct access to and insights from MMNA executives. To kick off the year-long program, MMNA organized a pitch competition and awarded a six-month, free-of-charge Eclipse Cross loan to the winner, Ms. Mel Taylor, CEO of automotive technology startup splitsecnd.
Splitsecnd is a portable device, that, once plugged into a vehicle's 12V outlet, can provide real-time location tracking, crash detection, access to a 24/7 emergency call center, and more. With smart phone and smart-home integrations, users can locate family – elderly parents, teens etc. – and business owners can locate delivery staff with simple voice commands.
