ETACS is Mitsubishi's unique system that controls all of the vehicle's electrical components including the headlights, door mirrors, windshield wipers, etc. It provides peace of mind and convenience and supports driving by controlling all of the vehicle's equipment precisely in a variety of situations.

Automatic Headlight Shutoff turns off headlights and fog lights automatically when the ignition is turned off and the driver's door opened.

Function that Automatically Restores the Door Mirrors if the Driver Forgets

If vehicle speed reaches 30km/h or more with the door mirrors still stored away, the system automatically brings them out. (Additional function: the setting can be changed so that the mirrors come out when the ignition is turned on and the mirrors are stored away when the ignition is turned off and the door is opened.)

Automatic Interior Lights Shutoff

If the driver leaves the vehicle with the interior lights left on, the system will turn them off automatically after 30 minutes. This gives drivers peace of mind even if they should happen to forget to turn off any lights. (It is also possible to adjust the period of time that elapses before the lights are turned off.)

Automatic Light Control

The system detects ambient illuminance in the evening and when entering a tunnel, etc. and automatically turns on the headlights. Furthermore, when the vehicle leaves a tunnel the system automatically turns the headlights off again. (Additional function: the time at which the lights are turned on can be adjusted.)

Vehicle Speed-Sensitive Front Windshield Wipers

If the driver sets the front windshield wipers to intermittent mode, the system will determine the optimal windshield wiper speed based on the vehicle speed.

Rear Windshield Wipers that Function in Response to Backing the Vehicle

If the driver sets the rear windshield wipers to intermittent mode, and when the driver puts the shift lever into R (reverse), the wipers will start functioning automatically to clear the rear field of vision.

After the door has been locked using the remote control, if the door is opened in any way other than by using the remote control, a buzzer will sound the alarm, and everyone nearby will be informed of the situation by the horn and flashing hazard lights.

Premium Security Alarm

The premium security alarm complies with the strict theft prevention performance standards stipulated by Thatcham.*1 If any of the doors are opened without authorization, there is an unauthorized entry to the vehicle, the vehicle is moved without authorization, or the battery lines are cut, a buzzer and siren will go on and the hazard lights will flash. When parking in a multi-storied parking lot, etc. The driver can switch off the sensor function temporarily.

Immobilizer (Vehicle Theft Prevention System)

The immobilizer is a system which ensures that the engine will only start after the unique authentication code transmitted from the key is matched to the authentication code of the engine control system of the vehicle. If the dedicated key is not used, the engine will not start. This stops people from starting the engine with an unauthorized key and effectively reduces the number of thefts.

Keyless Operation System

If the driver is carrying a keyless operation key, he or she can lock and unlock the doors and tailgate without taking out a key. Moreover, the engine can be started simply by putting your foot on the brake and pushing the engine switch (vehicles equipped with an engine switch) or turning the ignition knob (vehicles equipped with an ignition knob). There is also an emergency key that can be used in case the battery goes flat.

The driver can start the engine simply by putting his/her foot on the brake and pushing the engine switch (vehicles equipped with an engine switch) or turning the ignition knob (vehicles equipped with an ignition knob).

Unlocking and locking is completed simply by pushing the switches that are right next to the handles of the doors and the tailgate.

Other Functions of the Keyless Operation Key

  • The multi mode keyless entry function enables the driver to operate the door mirrors while outside the automobile.
  • A maximum of four keyless operation keys can be registered.
  • The keyless operation key is equipped with an LED indicator and can verify the communication situation with the vehicle and that the battery has gone flat.
  • Both of the keyless operation key and the emergency key can be used to Lock / unlock doors and start / stop engine.
  • The keyless operation key is equipped with an immobilizer function. This stops anyone starting the engine with an unauthorized key.
