RALLIART SIGNS TOMMI MAKINEN TO DRIVE A LANCER EVOLUTION IN THE 2000 WORLD RALLY
Triple World Rally Champion Tommi Makinen today
confirmed that he will continue to drive for the Marlboro Mitsubishi Ralliart team in 2000. The
Finn, co-driven by Risto Mannisenmaki, has committed to the team for next season. Makinen
currently leads the 1999 FIA World Rally Championship by ten points with four rounds
"Mitsubishi is the winning team and I want to remain a part of that", said Tommi
Makinen. "The next few years will not be easy with so many new teams but I believe we can
continue to win. My aim is to conquer the events I have not won and become the most successful
rally driver ever with the greatest number of victories".

year", said Marlboro Mitsubishi Ralliart Team Director Andrew Cowan. "Tommi has had a
tremendous run of success with Mitsubishi Ralliart and I am sure that he will continue. It is a
