Colt 1100

The Colt 1100 was launched in September 1966 with a 1.1L engine to boost the power output of the Colt 1000, an extra 100 cc were added to a 1.0L engine which was becoming pretty ubiquitous at the time. At 58 PS, power output was much higher than the 51 PS produced by Colt 1000 and with its lighter body delivered a significant increase in driving performance. Improved wiper, heater and defroster performances, a classy dashboard with a switch and control layout that was easier to operate, quieter noise levels after improvements to the underpinnings and transmission, and front seats that allowed taller drivers to obtain a more comfortable driving position all served to deliver a more luxurious ride quality.
In terms of styling features, Colt 1000 and Colt 1100 were fitted with round headlamps, Colt 1500 with twin round headlamps, while the New Colt 1200 and 1500 which were launched after a redesign in 1968 used twin square headlamps.
