Mitsubishi Motors Statement on Arrest of Former President

The Kanagawa prefectural police today arrested a former Mitsubishi Motors president on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death over an accident in which the clutch housing broke off a Mitsubishi Fuso truck.

We take this matter very seriously and intend to fully cooperate in investigations to shed light on circumstances surrounding the accident.

We would like to take this opportunity to pray that the victim of the accident may rest in peace and offer our sincerest apologies to the bereaved family.

We also wish to extend our deepest apologies for all the trouble and concern that we have caused to everyone affected by this incident.
