Seatbelts

Seatbelts are the foundation of safety!
In approximately 60% of traffic accidents involving deaths, the vehicle occupant was not wearing a seatbelt. Looking at the comparative death rates based on belted and unbelted occupant positions during a collision, when belted in the driver's seat the death percentage is 0.22%, but 6.3% for unbelted, which makes the unbelted percentage about 28 times higher than belted.
In addition, the same comparison for the passenger seat, unbelted fatalities are about 11 times higher, and for rear seat passengers about 9 times higher.
Also, approximately 40% of accidents occur within 20 minutes from driving start. Always buckle up!
Seatbelts with Pre-tensioner & Force Limiter
When the sensed impact exceeds a certain set level in a frontal vehicle impact, the pre-tensioner immediately tenses and rolls up the seatbelt to restrain the occupant.
In addition, seatbelt loading is added to a certain set level and the force limiter absorbs the forces. This mechanism maintains the correct seatbelt restraining forces and reduces these forces to the chest area.
Almost all our passenger vehicles have these systems as standard equipment.
